Experiencing Local Halal Certified Food in Tainan, Taiwan (2)

Do you already read my first part of experiencing local halal dishes in Tainan? If not, you can check it here

Together Tea shop

This halal certificate given to that store pushed me to search in internet, is there any store received this halal certificate also from the same bureau.. Although the website is in Chinese language, we try translate using app and found that news.ltn.com.tw give us more good news that Tainan Government already work to promote Muslim-friendly city and tourism, and absolutely with additional Muslim-friendly eateries.

Together Tea

Not far away from Chihikan Tower, after spend a lot of time hacking the language barrier between the news, maps and social media, we found another halal store called Together Tea, only 400m.. Although we already full but, we know it's hard to find another free time for trying local dish made by local people and with halal logo.

When we arrived at Together Tea, we are welcomed by such a kind of decoration, blackboard with colorful chalk writings and the halal logo. They placed it in front of the store, so we can noticed easily.

feel like home

Opening the door with "nihao..", Chinese language for "hello.." the owner look like surprised then she replied with "hello"... For us, it's normal, but for her might be weird and have big question "who are they?" Then we introduced our self, we want to try your dish, and what option is available for us? The owner is very friendly, and really want to have discussion. They explain us each menu even they have menu, written in three different language, English, Japanese and absolutely Chinese. Finally we eager to tried two different kind of yogurt and jelly with orange.

menu

Typically their dish was dessert, but it's very special because they made it by their hand and they serve it fresh. Passion-fruit tea (kind of infused tea), fruit-jelly and yogurt with fruit topping is their signature dish. As we mention before owners were very kind, they give us special nuts with honey for free, thank you all..

the another ornaments

the owners, his shirt contain lot of meaning

While we are trying the food, a guy came to us and try to talk with us. With our limitation in Chinese we try our best to do the conversation.. absolutely with help of translation, hahaha... This guy, is the owner too, because he is the husband of the female owner. He give us explanation about their store, about their concept and important of fruit freshness, their family, surprisingly his child is studying at same university with us but in different college. At the middle of conversation they ask, i was not understand his full question, how important halal sign for us, we just replied in translation and showed to them "it's about trust". Then he nod his had.

yogurt an jelly at far side

fresh..

Oh.. i forgot, after we try Together Tea yogurt, we found something interesting which their yogurt is fresh, less.. even not sour -not similar with regular yogurt i found in supermarket here, and the fruit topping is fresh and sweet. It could give "homy" taste while you eat that.

jelly

Jelly was served in kind of unique jar and it taste not too sweet so it's quite good for me who tried my best to eat less sugar. Overall this is good option for summer time, when the weather is hot. The price per dish is around 100 NTD.

To go to this shop, you can use public transportation and stop at Minsheng Road, Chunghwa Telecom bus stop, then take walk 50m toward west until you found intersection and turn to south, Together Tea is located at Yongfu Road.
