In my opinion, exploring Tainan Halal lists is not completed yet before founding souvenir from Tainan. As now Taiwan and Tainan want to attract traveler from South Asia and South-East Asia, called New Southbound Policy, souvenir become very important. Yes, because bring souvenir from other countries might create happiness not only for the person who traveled but also their friend in homeland country.

One of souvenir i want to search is Pineapple Cake, i repeat and add Halal Pineapple Cake, which listed on Tainan Halal leaflet. I think it's good option for country such as Pakistan, Bangladesh, Malaysia or Indonesia since they like foods or snacks. In addition, it from Taiwan, hehe... One of the stores selling this cake is Chimei Happines Factory. Located near Tainan Airport.

I don't know before Tainan has this place, Chimei Happines Factory, they sell many foods including vegetarian foods and snacks, and also this Halal cake. From city center you can go to Chimei Happiness Factory by Tainan City Bus, route number 5 (pick the route 5 via Tainan Airport), because this route have different routes, or use Red 3 line. But if you are from Chimei Museum or Bao'an Station, you can pick Red 3-1 line.

After reached Tainan Airport bus stop, we go to the Chimei Happiness Factory, exactly in across Tainan Airport. So if you take flight from Tainan Airport, before check-in you can spend your time to take this cake as souvenir and bring it to your home country. After you enter the store, go directly to the food display racks and you can find lot of foods and Halal certificates

In their Halal certificate stated Chimei Happines Factory has 11 items of Halal foods, but i think i just can find 3 types, first one is Pineapple cake with 4 different packaging (1 cake, 3 cakes, 6 cakes and 12 cakes packaging) if i'm not wrong, second is Mango cake with two different packaging and Longan cake with two different packaging. They have other cakes made from fruit but without Halal label on it. So we decide to bought Pineapple cake, Mango cake and Longan cake.

After bought three different types of cakes, is time to try it and decide, it worth or not. Firstly we pick Mango cake, the yellow box contains 3 cakes. The cake is round-shape and we think it has thick of mango paste and thin cake, with NT$150 per box for 3 cake or NT$50/cake is not cheap, but the taste was delicious.

Second try is Pineapple cake, the box was black-colored and it also consist of 3 cakes. Different to Mango cake, this cake shape was square and the cost for 3 pieces is NT$120. Square-shaped create this cake more heavier (additional 10 gr per cake) compare to Mango cake. The cake character is similar, thin cake layer and thin Pinnaple paste, in my personal opinion this is a mouthwatering sweet cake, but costly...

The third is Longan cake (Longan in Indonesia called Kelengkeng) in red-colored box, consist of 3 cakes. This cake shape is similar to Mango cake, round-shaped with sweet taste. But i think, sweetness level of this Longan cake is less compared to both cakes before.

All of them is delicious cake, so.. don't forget to pick them as souvenir and try taste this traditional cakes from Tainan..
